Subject: Aw, you're always pickin' on me
The cartoon (with the real movie clips) is cute, but the real Moe, Larry and Curly Joe steal the show. Thank you for posting!

Subject: Weird Fun
Voices by the real Stooges; Larry's voice was inspiration for Stimpy the Cat's voice! Always love Moe's insults to Larry. AND those sound effects that punctuate the action! Use of clips from old movies harkens to Fractured Flickers, Marx Bros Duck Soup (finale), Terry Gilliam or J Men Forever. Mindful of their image, after much heavy parental criticism (thankfully not in my house growing up) of Stooge movie violence, Moe chose kinder-gentler kid-friendly Curly Joe wisely: previous comedy "track record" of Joe DeRita a slapstick professional on stage & film (and, for image sake, off stage too) bulbous body shape, pumpkin head fits a visual comedic mold that helped other famous jelly belly laugh getters from Fatty Arbuckle to Charlie Brown or John Candy & on TV, Alfred Hitchcock. Moe's son in law producer Maurer instrumental in their 60s revival, at the helm. Re-uniting the Stooges with their old foil Emil Sitka (live action seq); Paul Horn (the jazz musician) flute theme is cute.

Subject: Memories
I watched these as child. Bought DVDs of 3Stooges toons in a $ store but music was different for opening scene. Wonder what copyright fracas caused that? I always liked opening song.

Subject: Aging Stooges
An aging Moe, Larry, and Curly Joe still able to engage in some simple but enjoyable slapstick. The cartoon is rather dopey, but it brings back memories. I used to watch "The New Stooges" when I was a kid.

Subject: Weird
Part-live action, part-cartoon. The live action stuff is tame slapstick, but it makes nice bookends to the weird cartoon. The cartoon features the Stooges playing and wrecking an organ in a silent movie house. It's intercut with a lot of stock footage to pad out the otherwise weak jokes. It IS nice to see the live action stuff from the 1960's, however.

Subject: Mid Life?
One thing everybody has to remember, The Stooges were in their mid-sixties at this point (Moe was around 68). There's just so much slapstick a body can take.Emil Sitka & Barbara Chain? show up in this one. Not a bad episode. 4 Stars from a Stooge Fan.

Subject: Out-of-sync sound on this
Downloaded, burned a disc, and watched this one....and the sound is horribly out of sync with the picture. Haven't tried the other formats because I was interested in the MPEG2 format for readiness for disc-burning, but has anyone else taken note of the bad sound synchronization?

Subject: Live Action Stooges in this episode
If for no other reason, the live action Stooges (the Mark IV version of the Stooges, with Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly-Joe DeRita) make this episode worthwhile. Tamer than the Columbia shorts because of concern from parental groups about the violent slapstick. Cartoons are extremely limited animation reminiscent of Bullwinkle. I'm actually surprised (but glad) these have passed into the public domain.
